Let's face it, for the majority of us diets don't work. If they did, there wouldn't be so many "diets" out there. There is a substantial amount of evidence showing that people who lose weight through dieting generally gain the weight back plus a little extra.

When you "diet" on the old diet cycle, your body goes into famine mode and starts to hold onto the weight for safe keeping. Our blood/sugar levels go crazy and we crave empty carbohydrates and sugary foods. We then give in to the cravings and eat the foods we're trying to avoid which results in us having some pretty nasty words about failure to say to ourselves. If the old dieting merry-go-round hasn't worked for you in the past don't feel bad, most people (about 98%) have experienced the same uncomfortable ride!

Hypnotherapy works with the whole person on a physical, mental and emotional level so that their health can be understood and then improved. Obstacles that can stop the desired weight goal being achieved may include behaviours modelled while growing up and the patterns of eating, strong desires and food addictions, lack of accurate nutritional information, portion control, eating habits, emotional triggers as well as other environmental factors.
Hypnotherapy tends to focus on
behavioural change as opposed to what is allowed or not allowed.

For weight control to be effective and long lasting, behavioural change needs to occur, the “automatic” behaviours need to be addressed. Hypnotherapy works in this automatic area offering a new weight cycle and a more confident, healthier you.

Hypnosis Subjects Lost More Weight Than 90% of Others and Kept it Off Researchers analysed 18 studies comparing a cognitive behavioural therapy such as relaxation training, guided imagery, self monitoring, or goal setting with the same therapy supplemented by hypnosis. Those who received the hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of those not receiving hypnosis and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended. (Ref: University of Connecticut, Storrs Allison DB, Faith MS.
