Children do not simply have smaller versions of adult spines and additional factors need to be taken into consideration. Common conditions managed in infants include breastfeeding difficulty, colic (irritable baby) and torticollis. Limps, learning difficulties and injuries are common in children.
Balancing the pelvis and providing evidence-based information regarding birth options and choices are the primary focus of Pregnancy care, as well as addressing any discomfort. Pregnancy is about growing healthy mothers as well as babies.
Support for a new mother is essential to the health and well-being of both mother and baby. Common components of care include normal infant behaviour, spine discomfort with breastfeeding and appropriate referral to other health care practitioners.
Chiropractic care of children in Australia has an exemplary safety record. All adjustments are performed with the minimal required force, with the patient’s age, size and preferences important factors to consider.
