Matischa was born in Austria and, after several years living in the UK, moved to Perth late 2006. She has been a public Reiki practitioner since 2012 and completed her diploma for Remedial Massage from Evolve College and her certificate for the Dr Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) early 2019.

Matischa believes that the power to heal from most dis-eases lies in all of us, but sometimes we need a little assistance to achieve wellness.

Matischa utilises Manual Lymph Drainage, Remedial Massage and Reiki; or a combination of two or all to achieve the best possible outcomes for the clients’ wellbeing. She is passionate about the importance of our lymphatic system and has a special interest in the management of lipoedema.

MLD uses ultra light pressure to encourage lymph flow, has a calming, analgesic, immunological and soothing effect. Its slow, repetitive technique calms the sympathetic nervous system (fight and flight) and allows the parasympathetic nervous system to take over. It increases blood flow in muscles and because of a suction effect draws inflammatory material out of tissues. With greater lymph flow, immune cells can be circulated quicker and fluid, proteins, lipids, organic and inorganic material (cells and cell fragments, viruses, bacteria, dust, dyes, etc. can be removed from the connective tissue.

MLD is a great treatment option not only for lymphoedema but also conditions like:

  • Lipoedema
  • Pre – and post surgery, especially cosmetic surgeries
  • Stress
  • Traumatic Injuries
  • Burns
  • Rheumatic disorders
  • Muscular/skeletal problems

Reiki is a Japanese word which describes the Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is applied via a hands-on treatment procedure.
Reiki is a complete system of healing that seeks to harmonize the mind, body and spirit. It helps to heal by accelerating the body’s own ability to heal itself physically; and by opening the mind to the emotional and mental cause of disease and pain.
Reiki is not associated with any specific religious practices or beliefs.
