A multidisciplinary approach to holistic health

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a complementary therapy that focuses on treating damaged, knotted, tense or immobile muscles. It is an effective treatment option for a variety of conditions that affect the muscles, tendons and bones and can also help alleviate other health problems.

Remedial massage is a therapeutic approach that aims to identify and fix damaged areas of the body, thereby accelerating the body’s natural healing ability. The intensity of the massage pressure can vary based on the problem, ranging from strong and deep to gentle and shallow.

Remedial massage aims to locate the original source of pain and address both the cause of the problem and its symptoms, which may radiate to other parts of the body due to muscle issues.

Remedial Massage Techniques Used

Pregnancy massage is available from the second trimester onwards.  It can be performed with a belly pillow to allow for comfortable lying on the stomach or side lying.

Sports massage therapy applies specialised techniques to aid in the healing of knotted, tight, weak, or damaged muscles.

Swedish (relaxation) massage uses long, soothing strokes to ease your tension and leave you feeling completely serene. Allow yourself to fully unwind as your therapist applies gentle pressure to your muscles, melting away any stress or discomfort.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

MLD is a gentle, non-invasive manual technique to assist your lymph fleow and aid in drainage of tissues (“detox”).  It also has a very powerful relaxing and calming effect on the nervous system.  MLD not only helps alleviate swelling but also enhance immune function. MLD may help treat other health conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis, Chronic venous insufficiency, Fibromyalgia, Lipoedema, Fatigue/Stress, Migraine, Chronic Sinus, Pre/Post-Surgery and Injury… etc

A method of non-invasive physical therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions. It helps reduce common symptoms, such as pain and sensitivity and promote functional and cosmetic improvements after surgery or injury.

Lymphoedema Therapy (CDT)

Lymphoedema is a chronic swelling of certain parts of the body caused by compromised lymphatic system either with genetic difiency (primary) or damage to the lymphatic system such as surgery, radiation therapy or trauma (secondary).  In the session, Kuniko uses MLD to help fluid to find alternate pathway to reduce swelling.  Also she gives advice on compression garments, exercise, diet and skin care.

RESTORE Scar Therapy

The RESTORE Scar Therapy Method

A method of non-invasive physical therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions.  Using specialist scar massage and fascial release, therapy tools and self-care advice to promote healthy recovery.

Scar tissue is less functional

As your body heals after an injury, scar tissue forms. Scar tissue is fibrotic and less mobile than pre-injury. Adhesions may form, sticking together layers under the skin.

How can scar therapy help?

Stimulate change to scar tissue on the skin surface and to adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue.

Reduce common symptoms, such as pain and sensitivity.

Promote functional and cosmetic improvements after surgery or injury creates scar tissue.

Will my scar vanish?

No, we can’t make your scar tissue disappear. Results vary, and early treatment is recommended for best cosmetic improvements. It’s never too late and old scars can benefit as well.

Gentle treatment with great results

The RESTORE method has been developed by the UK’s leading scar therapy teacher and Harley Street scar specialist, Emma Holly. RESTORE scar therapy method is used within the NHS and leading private healthcare providers. A course of treatment is usually recommended, but a single session and self-care advice for you to follow at home can be helpful.
